Red Diesel Fuel Changes

As you will be aware from the beginning of April 2022, the authorized uses/users of RED Diesel will substantially reduce to primarily Agriculture, Horticulture, Fish Farming, Forestry, Rail, Non-Commercial Off-Grid Electricity and Heating Community Groups, Limited Marine Craft and Showman.
Kabin Hire intend to make and implementation time frames of switching from Reduced Duty Fuels to alternatives in our Welfare Unit Fleet and Generators.
What does this mean for Kabin Hire Customers?
Unless you fall into the specific groups listed above, you will no longer be able to use or buy Red Diesel from 1st April 2022.
This includes any Red Diesel in the tanks of our Welfare Units and Generators and therefore you will need to have switched the fuel in the tanks from 1st April 2022 having used the remaining Red Diesel.
As customer of Kabin Hire you will be responsible for the transition in fuel type, ensuring the Kabin Hire’s equipment is running on the correct fuel from 1st April 2022.
You will be responsible if our equipment is seized by HMRC for being non-compliant under the new regulations.
As part of this process of conversion, we will be switching the fuel supplied in our Welfare Units and Generators, initially to White Diesel and with the aim of supplying HVO at a future date, dependent upon cost and supply availability.
Our Welfare Units and Generators can also accommodate HVO fuels whilst located on site, should that be your preference, with no need to drain the tanks of White Diesel residue.
